Contact us to find educational child care, and to get connected with other community resources such as food, medical assistance, workforce support, housing assistance and more.

CCR&R helps families by:

  • Informing you on how to identify quality child care environments.
  • Maintaining a database of legally operating child care providers.
  • Offering customized child care listings that best meet your family’s needs.
  • Helping families with the School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten application process.
  • Educating families about a child’s basic needs, financial assistance options, community resources, and other agencies that support family well-being.
  • Connecting families to specialists and resources for supporting children with special needs.

The FREE CCR&R Program is funded by the Florida Division of Early Learning.

Finding Child Care

Early learning education prepares children to enter school eager and ready to learn. A safe, loving, and engaging education environment helps them thrive. It nurtures their natural curiosity through fun, and daily interactions with teachers and other students.

Quality early learning experiences support every aspect of a child’s development, including:
  • Children’s health and well-being
  • Social and emotional development
  • Approaches to learning
  • Language development
  • General knowledge about the world around them
A nurturing child care setting helps children get ready for school by assuring:
  • A child can follow basic rules and routines
  • Vision, hearing, and dental problems are detected and addressed
  • A child knows their name and has a basic awareness of self, family, and community

How to Identify Quality Child Care

Children don’t learn in isolation. Their parents are their first teachers. From there, it’s vital to find a quality child care provider that will continue your child’s early development.

When identifying great child care, look for these four key factors:
  • Qualified and Caring Caregivers

Trained professionals who engage with children, encouraging development and fostering positive relationships.

  • Safe and Nurturing Environment

A clean, secure space that promotes physical and emotional well-being.

  • Engaging Learning Activities

Age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and cognitive development.

  • Positive Social Interactions

Opportunities for children to develop social skills, work with peers, and build relationships.

What is a CLASS?

The Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) can help you choose the best child care provider for your family.

CLASS measures the quality of interactions between teachers and students. These interactions lead to higher-quality teaching practices the improve your child’s learning experience. A higher CLASS score means teachers are engaging students in positive ways, including friendly interactions, sensitivity to children’s needs and feelings, consistent rules and routines, and positive behavior support.
